About Us
HOUSE of HOPE Twin Cities is one of the newest branches of the National HOUSE of HOPE and is still in early stages of development. The HOUSE of HOPE is a faith based organization with a loving staff deeply committed to restoring young lives. HOUSE of HOPE is a 501 C3 non-profit organization that relies on tuition and private donations. We will be a Residential Group Home licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services and the Minnesota Department of Health offering a residential program and non-residential family counseling.
Who will be Eligible
Teenagers ages 12-17 (girls can not be pregnant). Those who live within an approximate three-hour radius from St. Paul, MN. Those who have participated in behaviors which are destructive to themselves or others.
The Program
The HOUSE of HOPE Twin Cities will have room for up to 6 teenagers to live for 9 to 18 months with the average stay of 12 months. Residents will progress through 5 phases of restoration. They will participate in individual, group, and family counseling. Residents will attend on-site school 5 days a week, year round, and learn life-long skills of domestic responsibilities, financial management, and physical recreation.
The residents will participate in many avenues of healing: on-site school, spiritual guidance, professional counseling, devotions, family visits, memorization of scripture, and many other activities. They will complete five “phases” of restoration designed according to their specific need. Each “phase” includes personal, educational, mental, spiritual, emotional, and family goals. The program is intended to bring healing into every part of life. Our residents experience consistency, knowledge, love, routine, expectation, involvement, discipline, honesty, grace, boundaries, and scripture. The end goal: that they would learn and grow to become functioning, successful individuals.
Non-Residential Counseling
The HOUSE of HOPE will also provide non-residential, Christian-based counseling that is a proactive and preventative step for teenage girls and boys and their families so that residential placement need not be considered. If residential placement is needed, however, this will be determined through a series of counseling sessions, first. Marriage and family therapy designed to facilitate family healing and reconciliation will also be provided.
Counseling
Although we have not established a permanent office, we already have access to several Christian counselors. If you would like to get in touch with a counselor, please call us at: 952-233-4075, and we can refer you. We would also like to form teen and parent couseling groups, so if this sounds like something you would be interested in being a part of, please call us at the above number!
Program Cost
Tuition is based on ability to pay. No one is turned away because of inability to pay. We rely heavily on private donations from individuals, churches, and organizations because we are not funded through social service agencies or insurance.
